Peacock had an extremely misleading buildup. Not a fan.

Yeah, itís not impressive. Iím going to keep it, mostly for the classic movies that are in there, but Iím definitely not paying for the premium version. Oh, and the fact that thereís no Roku app for it also means that I wonít be using it very often at all. If you want me to use it, much less pay for it, get it on my TV. This goes for you too HBO Max.

Yea new platforms coming out and only being available on a handful of devices is extremely disappointing. The HBO Max one particularly blew my mind since you were able to access GO on basically anything.

I really want HBO Max, but I have no desire to watch that stuff on my phone, so I’m waiting. They’d already have my money otherwise.

One day, all of these streaming services will be consolidated for ease of customer use and we will call it cable.

I only have HBO Max because it is included in my cable package.

I only have cable because basic is included in my rent. So I pay $99 a month for 200 megabit internet and pretty much every channel including Showtime and HBO

With a few of these shows being nominated for 15+ Emmys you'd think there wasn't any other worthy shows out there.

But it's typical. Promotion. Politics. Blah blah blah.

I've had Max on my firestick for a few weeks now - you just have to sideload the apk. it's a little slow at times and doesn't smoothly run, but it works

Doesn’t smoothly run? Well sign me up!!

Just hold your phone close to your face or watch on a desktop/laptop.

the content itself runs smoothly - the app is just a bit slow moving through menus

It looks like thatís only for the Fire streamers. Both of my TVs have Roku built in.

Got a screamin deal on a new Samsung 50Ē 4k in April. Almost $500 retail, so I felt bad when I won the auction for $80 and went to meet him to pick it up. Really nice guy, just startin out, didnít know much about reserves or selling online. Said he was disappointed to lose that much cash over his ignorance of online sales, but he honored the deal. He showed me around his shop and some of the other things he was trying to get off the ground.

I called him the next week and told him Iíd be happy to offer advice for free and definitely buy from him again. Anybody who honors a deal like that is the kind of guy I want to do business with.

Anyhow, my point is that while I was thankful for the Firestick years ago I am so happy to ditch it for a smart tv: sooooo much faster and with far more options.

I agree with the speed, but not the more options - guess it varies by brand, but my smart tv is already loaded with apps and the only way to get new apps is if vizio decides to update the operating system. At least with the firestick you can load Kodi, Zion, etc.
