That’s assuming Béla is being one version of himself on every song. The guy is incredibly versatile as a musician, and as he himself states, often makes the instrument not sound like what it is. I think he’d be incredible for a full tour. Even if he maybe played 3/4 of the set...

Bring in bela full time. Rashawn can sell concessions.

I would take Bela with DMB for sure. Its pretty hard for the banjo to be offensive to DMBs music in any way. He could play on every single song easy without it distracting the music. Like the old days they could get into some monster Jams on songs like 41, Graves, Last Stop, Two Step, LIHOG, Typical, and more. It would only benefit this band. This would allow them to get more into type 2 territory like they used to. It would allow DMB explore again. Dave, Tim, Fonz, Carter, Buddy, Jeff and Bela would be a pretty great lineup. F it, they only have so many years left, why not refresh things one final time?

Will this happen? probably close to zero chance.

Period.

Does anyone here think he knows how much he's unwanted? Or does the fam praise him nonstop on IG? He banned me for saying I wished he'd play more tastefully within the band.

I noticed a while back he made all his posts so people can not comment.
I wouldn’t miss him at all though

No comments.. LOL. I wouldn't know, he banned me. I mean, come on Rashawn, the people are speaking man! Music director or whatever he calls himself.. how embarrassing.

You guys did a fantastic job with the Bela interview here. Very happy with how this turned out. Really awesome tid-bits here that I don't think any of us knew before like Bela playing along to the band live on the side of the stage during some of the shows they were guesting on. The respect and love these two bands (and crew) have for each other makes the Flecktones' contributions to DMB's music over the years just THAT much more enjoyable. Also really glad you guys just let Bela talk, instead of just trying to move on to the next question asap. That interview could have gone on for 3 hours easily. This was such a treat to listen to and watch.

It's simply amazing how one of the most prolific and talented musicians on the planet is still so humble, kind, approachable, etc...I'm sure part of it is the lack of ultra fame and all that comes with it which allows him to stay so grounded. It's artists like Bela and the Flecktones (and their crew) that we really need to support during this time.

I have a very good feeling we will be seeing The Flecktones open for DMB for a string of shows when DMB hits the road again.
