Great cover songs:

This could have easily gone in the General Music thread, however I feel like there are so many great covers out there that some that we may not be aware of might get lost in that thread. I'm on a big cover kick right now and I forgot just how good The Sundays version of Wild Horses was.

I think the greatest cover ever is With A Little Help From My Friends by Joe Cocker.

This Spotify playlist has every cover song basically. Anything from weird indie covers to popular covers. [Only registered users can see links.]

Great thread idea, and of course so many amazing covers. But this is the first to come to mind right now-

Every cover on this record by Jason Isbell is great

But this cover of Storm Windows by John Prine not only made me aware of it, but made it a favorite song of mine.

Also, there's no better cover, IMO, then when JGB played Tangled Up In Blue.

^ this killer version is from '80, but the one one of the self-titled live album from '90 that's on Spotify, etc is fantastic too.

one of my favorites:
Dang that was really good. This is a really good channel. This cover was posted on Reddit a few months ago. It's insanely relaxing.

And speaking of Chris Cornell (RIP) this is one of my all-time favorite covers:

I didn't know who this guy was until I watched a reaction video of his cover of I Can't Make You Love Me. (Bon Iver's version is really good too, but this guy totally channeled his inner Luther Vandross here).

Admittedly a bit of a cheat, but I’ve always loved this version of the song:

Another one that popped into my head this morning. We could probably just have entire thread dedicated to Dylan covers if we wanted to.

And if you like the bounciness of that 1980 version, there's also a good studio take as a bonus track on Run for the Roses [Only registered users can see links.]
