The LLs ruin Folsom the most for me...and you're right, BEF->Bartender is the best thing from that show. JTR to me kind of sucks with the LLs and I absolutely love the fuck out of JTR.

9-9 is pretty rough, but the 9-12 version is great. i wish they would have used that breakdown riff from the second half of the song on something much more worthwhile.

Of SU songs, EWU was great but my favorite was that long version of ABI. Roi really shines on that version.

The #41 also has a lot of Rashawn ear piercing. Eek. Also, Dave's voice on SMTS is pretty bad.

The Stone and Typical are nice though.
BOWA has been played at the slow ass tempo since 2000. i can't for the life of me figure out why they haven't sped that back up to proper speed like they have with pretty much everything else since 2002

perfect example of how that old, raw DMB was awesome ... and is probably gone forever

Listening to EWU right now as well, B. I like Dave's little opening riff on it. I just wish he changed his vocal delivery during the "Everybody Wake Up" part. Roi had some nice parts on it though for sure.

i disagree. i think they've slowed a lot down since the early days. crush comes to mind. i think butch's groovyness had a lot to do with that

Yeah, I really don't like the GGP LT version. It doesn't do the song justice.

Sometimes I think if they reworked tunes like EWU and American Baby - especially when it comes to Dave's singing - they could be really good tunes. They both need the ODH treatment.

Crash Into Me
Blackbird
Two Step

9/11

Lover Lay Down

That's pretty much what I take away from these shows. Not saying there aren't other good or fun performances but nothing stuck out to me more than these specific performances from that run.

Crush is a solid point, but besides that and BOWA i can't think of anything else that has been really affected by it. billies has some nights where it's played too slow, but most of the time it's fine. rapunzel is sped up a bit again, as is too much, rhyme and reason, #41, etc.

i'll say right off the bat crush and 41 are 2 of my 3 favorite songs, but i still feel like other classics could/should be played faster. i mean if you listen to rr '95 and hear songs like two step... it gives you (or, at least me) the feeling that songs should be played up tempo. but then again considering the band is 15 years older i guess i understand. i'm thinking about songs like #41, pig, etc
