Iím making this thread because it dawned on me today that Benaroya Hall is my favorite all-time release, followed closely by Kingbury Hall, then LT Vol. 3 and LT Vol. 1.

But Benaroya, man, is just the perfect release IMO. Great mix, insight from Dave (I refuse to use the word ďDavespeakĒ because itís super fanboyish and awful), a nearly perfect set, and some real standouts like LW, FTT, Raven, Bartender, Stay, AIFHTSA and perfectly imperfect performances of Stone and #41.

How Ďbout you? I think itís a good time to revisit this age-old question.
Benaroya is a great choice, a really cool release that doesn't get enough love. Some of those performances are phenomenal, this is top notch Dave

Dude you got to live the dream and hand pick your favorite show for a release. If I was ever in your boat I know exactly what I'd pick and I'd probably never stop talking about it.

And for the record it really is a top notch release, it's probably the best LT from the last couple of years.

Same. Listened to those both so many times, they have really become the definitive versions of a number of the songs on those releases. Not sure any of the LT releases come close for me to either of these.

Live Trax 3 .... edges out RR95 for me because of the Lillywhite tunes. Both shows offer vintage live DMB

This show has amazing, enduring vitality. And a few of my favourite live versions of classics, like Rhyme and Granny.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I adore red rocks, Luther, LT3, NYE 96. but I love that central park encompasses more of the bands career. The performance is on fire, they were clearly pumped to be there and everything was on point start to finish.

He was off and on in 1998, almost all off in 1999 and he brought them back around Listener. His alternate lyrics on Granny, passion on Wynona and the improv on Drive take all those to a different level.

Way too hard honestly. I I find myself coming back and listening to a lot of LT1 still, but Central Park takes it for me. Itís like having a live greatest hits and everything was so awesomely performed, great mix etc.

I feel like my "favorites" don't correspond with which ones I think are the "best"... Seems odd that I differentiate them so much. I guess because I tend to gravitate towards stuff that's relevant to my showgoing experiences. So while I think LT7, LT1, and LT3 are amazing releases and offer the most consistently quality DMB, I think I've spun tracks from LT2, WOTR, the 2008 shows, Brixton, etc a lot more.

Meh. Laugh it up. There are absolutely perfect versions of some of my favorite songs on that thing: Pig, You Never Know, The Stone - and awesome versions of #41, Bartender, Say Goodbye, Stand Up (yeah, I know), #34, and Time of the Season. Even the jam on Smooth Rider and Bayou are good on that. I also include the Complete Weekend on the Rocks in this, and 9/11/05 remains one of the best shows I've ever been to.

And yeah, being there definitely influenced how much I listened to that release when it came out and how fondly I remember it today. I would think DMB fans of all people would understand how linked the showgoing experience is with appreciation of the music. This is why I draw a line between "favorite" as different from "best."

I’d give you Time Of The Season. The mix is perfection on the 2 disc release. #34 I also might listen to, but I’d skip all those others tracks.
