Those early '02 Ravens are the shit.

The surprise for me was JTR. This is a great version that I'd never have listened to otherwise.

I remember listening to that amazing sax fill between the first two verses and just assuming that was an arranged part. I listened to this version so many times that I still hum that line to myself when I'm listening to other versions that don't have it.

The side that has DDTW, BEF, and Granny seems like the odd one out, but everything else seems of a type and is already rewarding multiple listens. I love how much quality DMB 2.0 is on here - it still seems like the 00-04 period is underrepresented in well-mixed live releases; this material is scratching itches I've had for a long time. And the mixing is stellar - you can hear everything that everyone is doing perfectly clearly.

Really, for my personal tastes, I'm only missing a really great Jeff solo and an early Grey Street somewhere. Swap the side I just mentioned for an '00 Grey Street and a LITHOG and this would be all but perfect.
Eh I dig this DDTW but I agree a LITHOG would have been a nice addition and a good swap for that BEF > Granny.

I second the part about quality 2.0, we don't exactly have a ton of good releases from '00-'04 so it's nice to have a lot of good stuff from that period here.

Having never listened to this Bartender ever, it definitely lives up to the hype. However, I still find the one from the day Roi died to be the best one IMO.

To be clear: there are lots of Bartenders I could listen to forever. This is definitely top-tier, is all I'm saying.

Does anyone know the conversion info for the new fileset? I see people saying it is better, but do we know how it was done? Also, the size of the flac set?

I dunno...it's sloppy, IMO. It's also like a minute and a half shorter than usual. Odd choice for that song.

Agreed. It is definitely sloppy and short.
This was not the right pick though, keep in mind. 6/20/03 was the pick Jake at Ants (who helped them compile the list) wanted. Something got miscommunication along the way and putting this version on was a mistake.

Break for It was a weird choice, IMO. The version picked has a timing fuck-up in the first chorus I find really distracting.

That's actually very interesting, and 6/20/03 is a much better version. Too bad!
