Some great stuff, don't miss the Kimmel bit which is buried in the comments on the first link.

Kimmel is a genius. His "Leno impersonation" (complete with non-offensive, non-threatening humor) is fantastic.

Yeah, not a huge Kimmel fan, but that was pretty damn good.

Anybody else like Craig Ferguson? I think the guy is hilarious and very on point.

Ferguson does a really good show -- he also consistently has the most entertaining interviews of the bunch. I'd probably rate him on the same level as Conan, both just a hair below Letterman.

Oh man how can you stand Letterman anymore? He's an idiot. Not to mention Paul Shaffer is such an ass.

way to miss the mark twice in one post. letterman's wit is probably sharper than any of the other hosts.

Conan
Ferguson
Kimmel
Letterman
Fallon
Daly
Leno

though its not network my honorable mentions go to my favorite basic cable anchors stewart and colbert

10 years ago this list would be completely different. I grew up on Letterman when the late show first started. This was back when he did the man on the street thing, back when he was cool like Conan. He used to be my all time favorite. Now he's done some things I don't agree with, but I forgive it.

there is absolutely no reason letterman's personal life and what he does with interns should have any effect on how you view his show. in fact, the way he's handled it makes him even more respectable. he's now human, and he's handled the situation like a badass.

the top 3 are very very close:

Letterman
Kimmel
Conan
Ferguson
Leno
Daly

Fallon

youre right, i still love letterman, but the story was still disappointing. i dont rank him as high because hes older now, and he's not quite as hip as he was back in the 90s
