How's about either this thread or another thread that would serve like a get well card that we could all sign/put our best wishes in there.

I think it's hard to understate how lucky DMB and the DMB fans have been the past 15 years. We've had only a handful of shows where a core member was sick or missing. Losing Roi for an extended period of time is sure going to be weird for the band onstage and fans enjoying the show. I sure hope Roi makes a full recovery but I'd figure that if he was hurt anywhere in his lungs/chest or fingers then he's probably out for the rest of the tour. Here's hoping to a speedy recovery for Roi and hopefully seeing him playing with the band at some point this tour, even if it's just in a "guest" type role for a few shows.

I'd say just look back at some of the band's "friends" and past guest. I know the past few years they have had quite a few different guys guest for different shows on sax. I remember seeing one guy in Chula Vista in 2006 as a quick example. I'd guess they would either play a show without a sax player (since Rashawn covers a lot of the parts) or call on a friend if they are nearby.

damn i hate when people post the same general ideas as me when i'm staring at this 'reply to thread' page

but yeah, i had the exact same idea... the fact that he's out of commission sucks enough, but the potential of lung complications would really suck for him.

Poor Roi...It seems that everything always happens to him...

The last show I went to was the show at the Home Depot Center where he started throwing up on the stage and had to leave like 4 songs into the set.

Anyway, at least he's not in critical condition. It's awesome to see that Jeff Coffin is available for the rest of the tour if they still need him to be there.

sounds like he'll be in the hospital for a while. perhaps we should send some get well soon cards to the UVA hospital. support is a good thing when you're spending all day in the hospital.

man, i hope he is ok. sounds like he would be lucky to come out of this with broken ribs only. but even with broken ribs...i doubt he'll be able to blow his horns for months.

This might also put the album on hold too. Lets hope for a speedy recovery for Roi, not just so he can play, but for his own health.

I never really thought this would affect me like it has since I heard the news.

Really hope they upgrade that "serious condition" soon
