This has me pretty damn excited for Kid A's anniversary now. They recorded a whole hell of a lot more than they did for this...
Yeah, but they already put most of it out! (Amnesiac).

I'm still waiting for my box set to arrive before I listen to the cassette. You guys have me very excited.

Even with Amensiac and the seven bsides from that session, there's still quite a bit of stuff left. Ed kept an online journal through the entire process, and it blows my mind how much stuff they worked on. Check out this site if you haven't - citizeninsane.eu

Basically they didn't have a deadline with that album, and the amount they recorded compared to OKC was much much greater

Looking fwd to hearing what you think of the tape man!

Somebody actually took the time to scan the book the box came with - [Only registered users can see links.]

All things considered this set is definitely worth the price tag IMO. These reissues can be so hit or miss. The remaster sounds good, it has 3 unreleased tracks... and the amount of time and effort they put into making that tape and this book must have been insane. The band was directly involved in it

Finally listened to the tape last night. Wow! I honestly expected to be very impressed, but it still exceeded my expectations. Very cool of them to put this together.

Highlights for me
Let Down acoustic: amazing
Thom on Piano doing Motion Picture Soundtrack: amazing
Big Ideas/Nude: amazing

Anyone know anything about that song at the end of side A?

Somehow I completely missed this! I will have to listen again tonight.

I honestly like that version of Nude more than the In Rainbows one. That arrangement definitely wouldn't have worked as well though on the album

The song after Let Down and the last song on side A are completely new to us. That second one is really friggin good

Agreed, and I think I also like that version of Motion Picture Soundtrack more as well.

Now I really do hope they do this for Kid A. I would really like to hear early acoustic/piano versions of some of that stuff.

That reminds me, have you guys ever heard John Mayer's acoustic cover of the track Kid A? It is so good.

A Moon Shaped Pool is honestly becoming one of my favorite Radiohead albums. Honestly, every single track is classic Radiohead, totally knocked out of the ballpark. If I had to rank albums:

OK Computer
Kid A
In Rainbows
A Moon Shaped Pool
Amnesiac
The Bends
Hail To The Thief
The King of Limbs
Pablo Honey

There is not a lot of space between this top 6. I think I like Amnesiac more than most people do.

I still wish they'd done something different with True Love Waits in the studio.

In Rainbows
OK Computer
A Moon Shaped Pool
Kid A
The King of Limbs
Amnesiac
The Bends

If I'm being completely honest with myself and ignoring everything I've been told to believe by critics (in other words, as much as I love and respect Kid A, I don't find myself going back to it much in the past decade) - this is my ranking:

OK Computer (tie)
In Rainbows (tie)

Hail to the Thief
A Moon Shaped Pool
Kid A
The Bends
Amnesiac

King of Limbs
Pablo Honey
