That's how I feel about almost all Mayer albums. They really grow on you. First listen is usually "this is pretty good, that's alright..." and such, but like two or three months after its release I'll be listening to the album nonstop.

One thing worth pointing out - at Mayer's age Dave had written and released both Everyday and Stand Up. Though Mayer is a significantly bigger douche than Dave, as a musician he's had arguably the more consistent and quality career.

True, but in fairness, if there was no 'Band' after his name he would not have released either of those albums. Those albums were 'Band' mandated albums

Good to hear, our show is in 2 days.

Glad I've been on board from the very beginning, it's good to see him finally get his due.

Seeing him tonight in Nashville. Already had a family trip to the Smoky Mountains planned, so I snuck away for a day. Looking forward to it.

It's a plethora of music tonight When he play 'If I Ever Get Around to Living' he split it up in three parts and jammed the hell out of it at the end. He also confirmed my thoughts that it's one of the greatest grooves ever.

I caught two shows his spring but I'm excited to fill in the gaps on TSFE (Rosie, In The Blood) and hoping for Clarity/Good Love Is On The Way.

2 great tunes, but so stylistically different.

Went in Houston on Sunday. Been there since the beginning, he's at his absolute peak. Found a cheap flight to Fort Lauderdale, so am going again on Saturday.

Apparently there's an hour long version of that interview which will be out next week.

Same here so needless to say I'm a little bit excited about tonight's show in his surrogate hometown.

Check out the 4:35 mark where he compares the feel of Edge of Desire notes to Satellite.

Mad skills.

Last night's Mayer show was just OK to me. The entire thing just felt super rushed to me with songs being played at quicker tempos than usual. It was odd.

Thanks, man...it was an all around rough day/night for me and the lady and then for the show to be lackluster kinda sucked, but what can you do? I expected to get flamed on the Mayer boards for posting my thoughts about the rushed tempo thing, but a bunch of folks noticed as well so apparently it wasn't just me.
