I saw him at Bonnaro a few years back, I like him, but be prepared for one of the most mellow shows you've ever seen. I almost fell asleep during it when I went..but I did smoke a full blunt to the face too. So there's that

We've seen him a buncha of times and we always have a blast. Last time, me and the lady dressed up in Hawaiian stuff from Party City (leis, Hawaiian shirts, pineapple print fedoras, etc.) and had a big old time.

In light of the ridiculous ticketing fees at The Fox in Atlanta, I'm skipping Wilco and used that money to get tickets for Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats instead. For a $31.50 seat, The Fox charged an additional $17.70 in ticket fees and tacked on a $4.95 order charge to process the entire order to boot. Unreal. So I did what any American would do and I bitched at them on Twitter.

They are, I've just seen them a bunch and have to start drawing lines on bands that are always touring that I've seen so many times in the past (much like being done seeing DMB/D & T). I legit can see two smaller bands for the price of one Wilco show.

Tonight is White Denim opening up for Umphrey's at Chastain Park in Atlanta (an open air amphitheatre). WD opening sold me on this show (UM come around quite a bit so I have to pick and choose what show I wanna hit), but when I saw it was at Chastain (which I'm pretty sure they've never played before) I was all in. Can't wait to see that laser show outside, should be sick. After being vehemently opposed to UM in general, my lady's coming with for her first show...she's actually pretty excited which makes old Rager happy.

Enjoy man. As you know, they're pretty much my favorite band. Should be a blast as always. I've taken the lady to maybe 4-5 shows and she's enjoyed it for the most part.

Thanks, man! They're always a great time, but I dunno, I feel like tonight has the ingredients to be something extra special if it's a good crowd. The area that the venue is located in is definitely on the hoity side, so I'm really curious as to what type of audience it will be. I guess we'll soon see!

Great show last night. White Denim came on at 6:30 and the venue was still very empty, so I was able to get down close and enjoy them from near the stage. Umphrey's came on at like 8PM to a decidedly non-packed house (we had lawn and there were plenty of open seats towards the back of the venue), but they rocked it nonetheless. You have to respect and admire a band who consistently kicks ass from show to show regardless of venue or crowd. Unfortunately, what I was really hoping for was a sick light show under the stars at an outdoor venue, but the hood (for lack of a better term) just under the roof in the pic above killed any notion of that. It wasn't a deal-breaker by any stretch of the imagination, I just thought it would have been awesome which was why we went with lawn seats. Oh well, anyway...sick show for sure, UM shows never disappoint.

Shame about the lights but that looks like a blast! Roulette and Words both hadn't been played in a year so those are both nice gets. Looks like fun
