Choose FIVE songs you never want DMB to play again.

Poll to come.

If one isn't listed as an option that you'd like to add, feel free to post below.

Sets would be so much more varied in the majority of these options were eliminated.

It was hard to narrow down to just 5.

There's a handful of songs there that need a break. But Grey Street should never be shelved for good... it should just be played more tactfully.

I really am sick of Gravedigger but it's a fine song to catch every 5 years or so.

I was going to say something similar. There are songs like Jimi that would be loved again if they stopped playing them every night and the same way they’ve been playing them for years. Take them down for a couple of years, come back with something a little different, and nobody hates it anymore. And with Grey Street, that is undeniably a great song. They just need to start playing it like they give a shit about it.

I agree with both these statements completely.

They were definitely included because they have successfully played them deep into the ground. Eliminating them would really force Dave to get more creative.

I'm not picking ones they hardly/moderately play, like Time Bomb or Sister. I'm also not picking sure fire classics, no matter how botched they may be compared to year's past.

Seven (I hate you I hate you I hate you )
Gravedigger (should always be Dave solo)
Louisiana Bayou (because they can't just play it a couple times a tour...)
That Girl is You (if only it were instrumental...)
Samurai Cop (because Bismarck...)

If dave was better at writing setlists / judging his own music I think Sister is actually the only song on that list I would choose to see shelved for good. I can take the rest of them 1 or twice every five years to keep you guessing.

But, since he isn’t and we have to lick five: Seven, Sister, You and Me, Can’t Stop and Angel. Very few redeeming qualities in that bunch with Can’t Stop and You and Me being the best of the five.

Yeah I’d be 100% fine never hearing most of those ever again. Jimi, Satellite and Grey Street are classics though, they should just play then less but I’d be upset if they got totally shelved. Could give two shits about all the other ones on the list though

I’d say gravedigger is also a really good song. I just never want to hear it at a show I go to more than once every 10 years.

Sister
Satellite
Grey Street
Lousiana Bayou
Time Bomb (I liked the intro which they killed, so I’m done with it)

Most of these picks are entirely because of frequency of play, and only getting worse over time. I would honestly have put OSW in my list if it was an option.
HFTGL belongs on this list too.

I would rather hear Angel, Dreamgirl and Smooth Rider than Grey street, Satellite and OSW at this point.
