4 by mistake, meant 3
Mostly because of Hello Again and how YMDT has come live

I like the full length Hello Again (from the Australian release or whatever) that leaked at some point - it doesn't have the power of the live versions but it does its own thing and I can get behind it. And I like Trouble With You.

...neither of which was actually ON the ALBUM, so:

Zero.

So far:

Before These Crowded Streets: 98%
Under the Table and Dreaming: 88%
Crash: 86%
Busted Stuff: 70%
Come Tomorrow: 63%
Everyday: 48%
I see a trend with those numbers.

I give it a 3, and that's being generous. I don't think I've ever heard such a poorly-produced album from a major label band.

I do like how some of the songs evolved live, and the bonus disc. That's a 3 to me.

God, it's abysmal.

Totally bewildering. I remember some 2004 sessions, I think around starlake. Wonder why those were scrapped and took a 180? Especially after the everyday fiasco, you'd think they would have thought twice.

And donít forget that Dave had just released Some Devil, which was such an improvement over Everyday. And then..

It wasn't released in Australia. It was a rough cut of the album that was sent to radio stations there to promote the band's March tour. Eventually it found its way out to collectors.

I was thinking, "wait, wait, wait..."

But, no, you're right. This is the JarJar Binks of DMB albums.

I immediately regretted it and should’ve voted 4. That being said, I look at ratings like grades. And a 5 is still a D- or a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. We’re talking about different degrees of bad, but we’re all on the same page.

Sure, you're in the same library, but a 5 for Stand Up isn't even in the same book!

Weird thing is that Batson’s production on Can’t Stop, IOY, COCO and CT are all fine. Not amazing but a hell of a lot better than SU. Still do t eat what happened here.

Agreed, the production on the new album is like night and day compared to Stand Up (hell, I'd argue that the songs on CT sound better than anything since Some Devil)

Cavallo’s songs on CT all sound awesome. Great production.
Batson’s are a step down but still pretty good.

Maybe his production style (w/ regards to DMB) evolved over the course of the 10+ years since he started on Stand Up w/ them.

Edit: I agree with you on sound, too. I've been listening to BWGK and AFTW and Come Tomorrow sounds fuller, especially compared to BWGK.

Dive In came up on my shuffle an hour ago and was really impressed by the production. And holy shit, I never think of this as a Carter song, but good god, Carter is amazing on it. He’s going insane during the verses.

All this to say that even Dive In (probably one of the most forgettable songs on that album) is better than anything on SU.
