I just got around to watching this last night. So refreshing to hear Dave’s guitar again. He can still play if he’s forced to. PFWYG was the highlight for me, even with the lyric flub.

Rewatching/listening this and...

I even like the Out of My Hands. I haven't ever disliked OOMH, but this version is raw and simple. Piano + drum is kinda exactly what this little thing needs to be. Maybe it's Carter's set coming in clearly. I dunno. I'm a fan.

But this Say Goodbye reminds me of what drew me back into DMB 20 years ago.

Aka cool guitar, awesome drums, unique voice and not being reliant on electric guitar.

This OOMH is exactly what it needs to be, in the exact setting it works best in.

I do enjoy Stefan on this one though. Those 3 on it is perfect IMHO.

I actually really like what Tim does on it. Listen to the one from 11/30/12.

This band doesnít need Rashawn and Tim. I love Tim as a guitar player, but his playing is distracting away from Daveís guitar. Being able to hear Daveís guitar loud and clear is essential. Rashawn clusters the music too. All you really need in the full band is Dave, Carter, Fonz and Jeff. You can add Buddy too (he does good fills and can solo) but heís not really needed.

I canít believe people really think Rashawn is essential to DMB. Tonightís session is proof these guys can figure it out without Rashawn lol.

That was truly exciting!
highly disagree on Tim, but seriously - a theater acoustic tour with Dave, Carter, Tim, Stefan and Jeff is the best thing that could possibly happen.

even D,C,T & S would be a great time. even better if Bela would guest here & there.

They decided to become a 'rock' band with Tim and Rashawn squealing away. It has been mentioned in here a few times, but Tim is a weird electric player (with dmb) in that he really doesn't have a style to my ears. He just sounds like a guitar player. You can hear him play acoustic and say, "That's Tim," but not electric. Or, at least I can't. His solos are just generic rock solos.

Give me a theater tour with Dave, Tim (acoustic), Carter, Stefan and Branford Marsalis. A slow sexy jazzy time.

Watched for the 3rd time, this PFWYG is stunning. I really don't say that about much, but for a band(really Carter and Dave in this case) that has been around for 30+ years and to still knock my socks off once in a while, that says something.

You can feel that DMB magic is still there in the music when you listen to PFWYG and Say Goodbye.

With the 2 core members, yes. The rest of the magic passed away and was fired.

there was nothing magical about the member who was fired. any kind of magic he brought to the band was gone a very long time ago.
