TR3 will return to the studio later this year to record a new CD.

If only DMB would debut new material, dig deep into their vault to resurrect vintage tunes not played in years and unveiled surprising new covers

Ah well

I saw TR3 once and it was just way too much noise, I didn't find it enjoyable. In contrast, I thought Jeff Coffin's mu'tet was amazing

Seems kind of weird announcing a concert and trying to sell tickets under 2 weeks before it kicks off right?

I had a conversation online with someone close to tim and he said (to the effect) without BT, Tim will have lots of filling in to do.

Take it for what it's worth but to me it sounds like they are planning on using tim and the horns to fill the gap.

Anyway I recommend seeing tr3 at least once. It's a different tim then most know

I mean this would be the band that would never end up addressing an issue like this, just act like nothing happened and “fill the gap”

Hell did they ever really say anything about Butch coming back for that one show?

I heard rumblings as well that missing instrumentation would have to be filled in a bit by other instrumentation...

I dig tr3 for what it is. Tickets are normally like 15-20 bucks (at least when I saw them), small venues, and Tim is a unique character.

I think it's a good time and worth seeing if you're a big fan of Tim. He's my favorite member of whatever DMB is these days so I try to see him when I can.

Agree with all of this. I love TR3.

It's worth pointing out that the date for the Richmond show is incorrect in the OP. It's actually 2/23 (the band has fixed this on their post).

Can't believe we got him at El Dorado. That's a 20 minute drive for me down here in South Arkansas. We've got a new 8k seat amphitheater as well. Braid Paisley, Robert Randolph, and more played last year. Hopefully dmb eventually makes it!

For anyone going to Chicago tonight, the show has been canceled on short notice. I'm friends with mick the bass player, waiting to hear back why.
