8/9/98.

My first show.. 20 years ago today. Drove down to sit on the lawn. First real concert of any kind. Amazing from start to finish. Drove back through the night. One of those memories of pre-college life I'll always remember. Really started this crazy 20 year journey.

I hear there was a big debate on "Morning Joe" about Phish vs DMB and the hosts/quests

Yeah. Katy Tur who is a big Phish fan just covered it too. I'm sure a video will pop up at some point.

Really wish they would bring back the Heartbeat intro and Linus/Lucy. They have the keys back for it.

It'd fit so perfectly out of how they're ending Bartender too.

To have Ross take the solo instead of Jeff? No thanks. I say leave it in the past where it remains unmolested. Not everything should be brought back.

If Rashawn plays a muted trumpet, I might not mind the heartbeat intro.

i really thought that's what they were going to do, a 2018 version of Heartbeat.
I'd be ok with a brief heartbeat jam, but if it's going to go 5-6 minutes, would rather have a full song instead.

Heartbeat with Branford though... That needs to happen. I think Rashawn would do a serviceable job.

I hope DMB 4.0 make a new album soon. It's crazy to think that when I became a fan in 2001, I was accustomed to frequent releases of new albums.

2001 - Everyday
2002 - Busted Stuff
2003 - Some Devil
2005 - Stand Up

Things just got slower and slower from that point on.

With few exceptions, that tends to happen with most bands and artists. The longer the career, the lengthier the stretch between albums.

Hell, in 14 years, aside from a rarities compilation and a live album, Tom Waits has only released one studio album. Before that, in the previous decade, he released four of them, two on one day!

Did the latest Blenheim Vineyards D&T release come out? I want to grab the disc because I know Trouble is on it, but I can't find it.

Local DMB cover band playing 'Bartender' at a benefit last night for their former drummer who passed away suddenly a few months back.

I've heard better, but they've got potential...

In a perfect world, Fall '98, but I could see something like this, since all it's missing is Spoon & Halloween:

June 3, 1998
Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheatre, Burgettstown, PA

Don't Drink the Water
Tripping Billies
Pantala Naga Pampa
Rapunzel
Pig
The Stone
Drive In Drive Out
The Last Stop
The Dreaming Tree
So Much to Say
Anyone Seen the Bridge
Too Much
Crush
Stay
Dancing Nancies
Two Step

Couple of July or August shows I’d rather see...if it were to be summer 98.

I absolutely agree. The one that's always been on the top of my list, it's the perfect set, very well played and flows nicely:

May 29, 1998
New World Music Theatre, Tinley Park, IL

Don't Drink the Water
The Last Stop
One Sweet World
Lie in Our Graves
So Much to Say
Too Much
Crush
Pantala Naga Pampa
Rapunzel
Two Step
#41
Pig
The Dreaming Tree
Jimi Thing
Stay
