You're sort of right about this. What it's missing is the violin. The horns play different part after part here.

I'm happy right where #41 is now. Remember when they just slowed down the last pattern over and over and ovvvver and ooooooovvvvvvveeerrrrr and oooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrr again to no end just for the purpose of making it like 3 minutes longer? No thanks.

I like the song for the song itself. Amazing first six minutes, and that's what I'm there for when it comes to this song. When it was 18 minutes with all the solos, it was no different than Jimi Thing is now, except it was played more often and in a better spot in the setlist for me to go to the bathroom after the song proper.

100% agree. I also love that Bartender has been reeled the fuck back to a normal length again.

Has it? The ones from the winter were still 15 minutes long.

Seems like it’s 12-15 minutes now. In the mid-2000s it was close to 20 minutes I think.

Aside from the 7.25.01 version, which is extra long because of Jeff guesting, the three longest Bartenders in my iTunes library are the 2018 webcast versions and the 2018 Charlottesville release. So in fact you're the opposite of right about this one.

I would say the almanac is a better source than your iTunes library. I wouldn’t say they’ve gone down in length a lot, but by and large they’re a few minutes shorter than they became in 2006-07.

2019 versions range from the 15-18 minute range (which is a bit longer than I realized).
But, These are all 18-23 minutes:

That one at Hartford was so long and had a digereedoo solo in it. Roi walked off stage for half the song (he also did it during seek up too).

Not sure I'd heard a 4.0 Pig, but that muted trumpet actually sounds great. Don't really miss the violin at all there. Then just went and listened to one this year, ugh. The fake violin part from Buddy just sounds super cheesy.

Yeah, the muted trumpet is much nicer than the synth. Obviously more natural sounding.

This IS a nice pig. I still miss Pubes screetching away. It was good for a laugh, but even sweeter when Boyd nailed those opening notes and Leroi would add the shade...

Now a Crush please. We still don't have a 4.0 Crush released, and I thought it was one of the best songs of the tour. Boyd had slaughtered that song for so long...
