I love how we went from “The album is a mix of old stuff and new stuff” to Can’t Stop and IOY being the only legacy tracks included.

We know there is a Target exclusive. I can't imagine it's just a color variant.
Especially with all the Batson talk about bonuses and just the fact we know how much stuff was left off this thing.

We never got closure on what happened to the '04 songs and it has happened all over again with some of the new ones. If they band is choosing not to discuss their decision making, then I must assume they would rather be a pop act, than what Lillywhite suggested with BTCS - "a musically challenging" band.

Queue the profiteering posts! If true there is no place to get the definitive collection. And it does surprise me WH didn't offer some special edition beyond vinyl color.

If there is an album planned, it would make sense to divide up the stronger and weaker songs evenly between the two so the second one will stand on its own and not just seem like the b-sides for this one. Or maybe even put slightly more stronger songs on the second so people are still interested in new dmb.

I in no way shape or form expect them to be or thought they would be the same band now than when I started listening in 93. I see moments of the DMB I grew up with in the 90's when I hear the 04 songs, and I see moments of it in songs like Shotgun, Bismarck, and even a couple of others. To me they are insistent in having a different sound or be a different band than what they were, and that's ok. It just means I probably will spend more of my time being a nostalgia fan. I'm not to Mersh's level, but I find myself not listening to anything after 04 very often. With that being said, I will give this album a chance like I do all of them because of being with this band for so long. |

I think I’m gonna write my thesis about the “Self-Destruction of the Dave Matthews Band” and start it off with:
“In 1998, the Dave Matthews Band released a hit album with a track brilliantly detailing the cricifixion of Christ and the subsequent effect that moment had on humanity over the following 2,000 years. By 2018, that very same band released an album with a track featuring incoherent baby sounds aimed at legitimately trying to remind us all we should be ourselves, a message never once conveyed by any other artists in the history of any artistic medium. This is the story of the self-destruction of the Dave Matthews Band. That would be the easiest 30,000-40,000 words I’ve ever written in my life.

They probably spent less than 12 minutes on some of these tracks.
