I enjoyed it very much, but it didn't blow me away.

Crowd was better than usual for HOB Cleveland. Performances were fine but no where near what I had been hoping for.

I wish I would have made it more of a priority to see them back in the day.

Looking forward to the new album, Popper mentioned it at the show and it aligned with the news you posted. I think they played 3 songs from it.

Very happy I went.

Yeah, understood, Ď90 thru roughly Ď98 would have blown you away. Glad you enjoyed.

I'm trying to see if I can make it to the BT show here next week. I've skipped the last couple in the area as I had other things going on and by and large the song selection didn't seem to vary from tour to tour. These lastest ones look pretty good though.

I don't want to come off as complaining as they are a different band now than they were in the late '90's. But when they were finishing a song and would start a segue, you had that anticipation that they could flow into just about any other song.

How were the new tunes?

I havenít read it yet, but Iíve already heard some of the more incendiary things he said. He clearly gives absolutely no fucks anymore.

hip three minute diddies

But you should go. They did jam out and segue a few things that were unexpected.

Yeah, like I said above, BT shows now are not quite what they were back in the day, but still very good. They don't play for very long, and they play Hook, Runaround, and But Anyway at almost every show, for obvious reasons. They play a few new songs, that are good. But they mix up the remainder of the set pretty good from show to show, with some nice jams and segues.

Wife got me tickets to see BT in Wilkes Barre at the end of the month, 3rd row (first row behind the small two row ‘pit’,) pretty sweet!

3/4 of the smashing pumpkins are touring this summer. D’arcy was left out. But it’s an arena tour and they aren’t playing anything post 2000

I saw them in 2007, it was a real bad concert. Billy's voice does not translate to a live show very good.

I saw them around that time and thought it was good except for a lousy encore. I saw Zwan too and enjoyed it :/

And no BT for me. They sold out for tomorrow night. Didn't jump on tickets because I was supposed to be out of town. But I didn't see them selling out either.

that's what the press release said

"GRAMMYģ Award-winning, acclaimed alternative rock pioneers The Smashing Pumpkins today announced the Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour, their first tour in nearly 20 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha.

The monumental Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the band’s formation, will highlight music from the group’s inception through 2000, and will exclusively feature material from their groundbreaking debut Gish through Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Machina. Longtime Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder will also take part, as the band moves to a three guitar lineup to better emulate the signature tones and textures of their albums.

“This show and staging will be unlike any we've ever done, and will feature a set unlike any we've ever played. For if this is a chance at a new beginning, we plan on ushering it in with a real bang,” added Corgan. "

Couldn't get D'Arcy out?

That's interesting, though. Should I be surprised that they are playing arenas?

She said he had already hired a bassist when he asked her so she just said no. Seems a bit bitter

I'm sorta surprised about the arenas. They haven't released anything big in 18 years and they've been playing theaters prior to this upcoming tour.
