Home Theater Sound Bar

Does anyone have any experience with these. Looking for something to hook to the TV/PS3 to play music and add a little boost of sound. I was look at this:

[Only registered users can see links.]

I have a VIZIO 47 inch, so i shouldn't have any connection issues. I need something small without wires because my wife doesn't want speakers and wires all over the living room.

Thanks

I have this one: [Only registered users can see links.]

It gets the job done, gets higher volume & better clarity, etc. I've seen more expensive Vizio ones and they're even better than mine. They're good investments.

I went with Polk speakers. I think they're good value for their price.

If you have the money to spend on the initial investment, my recommendation is the Sonos sound bar. Then you can build your entire house's audio piece-by-piece and it sounds amazing. Like the first time you went from Apple ear buds to a nice pair of headphones.

The key for us was the wireless back speakers for surround as my wife can't deal with cords, and I'm not wiring through my walls - I can barely hang a picture. Other wireless back speakers still have to connect to a box.

The flexibility of linking different speakers in your house and the built in apps for Spotify, Pandora, Sirius, MLB, LivePhish+, Wolfgangs, streaming from your PC library or phone. It's literally the best non-essential purchase of my last five years. I went from listening to some music in my house every now and then to music replacing TV as my choice of something to do in downtime.

Yeah that's where you start. I think my next piece after that would be the sub. The playbar has plenty of bass for music and TV, though, so it isn't necessary unless you want to shake your house, which is nice sometimes. Then down the road maybe If you want to complete your surround setup two Play-1s in back.

Oh man I got so lucky here. We bought Force Awakens on bluray and we did both agree that our sound system wouldn't do it justice and needed to upgrade. Like I said she hates cords. This was the only system that checked both boxes. I also used the old, "we can spend $400 now and upgrade in a few years or just spend the $700 on a system we would never need to replace, just add to." Which is dirty on my part because it's irrefutable. :-)

I've had a sound bar for a few years. Its a Samsung. Its only a 2.1 channel and while kind of nice, it sort of sucks for action movies. I have to constantly turn up the volume to hear the people talk, then so you don't get blown out of your seat, turn the bar down when explosions happen. I was talking to someone about the whole thing and I thought he told me the 2.1 channels don't have tweeters in them and makes it harder to hear the talking in movies. Ended up buying some wireless headphones for action movies. Sucks not living alone and not being able to turn up the volume to enjoy the explosions. Now I can sort of enjoy it.

I'm not a soundbar guy at all, but I have read fantastic reviews about the Sonos SB.
