Numerous reports out that teams are interested in #Indians players Choo, Perez and Masterson. We'll see what happens Tuesday or before...

NiCK (Crush) 07-29-2012 06:10 PM

Yea, Pirates really want Choo.

He's a Boras client, so he'd end up being a pain in the ass to resign after next season anyway, so that's fine.

Masterson is so inconsistent.

Perez is having a great year, but is kind of a tool and a social liability.

I don't know. I think losing Perez would hurt the team the most, no doubt. We'll see.

sean52692 07-29-2012 06:17 PM

eh, Perez is having a career year, but closers are definitely replaceable.

Masterson could get a decent amount in return, since the SP trade market doesn't seem too strong. I wouldn't be shopping him, though, only 28, and is on pace for another 200+ IP with sound #s.

NiCK (Crush) 07-29-2012 06:21 PM

Oh yea, no doubt. Pestano can easily take on the closer role for the Tribe.

For Starling Marte. No thanks. The kid has tons of potential and only played in 4 major league games. I'm not saying the Bucs couldn't use the outfield help, but I don't want to be giving up Marte just yet.

So what's it gonna take for the Giants to get Pence?

K270 07-30-2012 10:38 PM

Good to see Dave Dravecky is at the ballpark tonight.

Looks like you got him.

Mitch 07-31-2012 11:47 AM

Surprised to see the Phillies unload Pence, after acquiring him last summer. I thought he'd be there for awhile.

Nothing much for the Mets to do this year. Last year we traded 2 months of Beltran for Zack Wheeler, who is now a top 10 overall prospect. according to Baseball America, and has dominated Double A this season. Mets could have a real nice young rotation in a year from now, if these guys stay healthy, which is of course always a big IF with young pitchers.

Solid pickup...bummed to Schierholtz go, if he's part of the deal....

NiCK (Crush) 08-01-2012 10:05 PM

Fuck me the Indians have completely collapsed after that monster win against Verlander.

sean52692 08-01-2012 10:49 PM

yeah, it sucks. Lowe probably getting DFA soon.

NiCK (Crush) 08-03-2012 09:59 PM

Apparently the Cubs have some interest in Derek Lowe ... my goodness, stay away.

sean52692 08-03-2012 10:14 PM

yeah, that would make zero sense.

Cubs have little to none pitching depth in their system, but it makes sense to give Raley and Rusin at least a look this year, and not have a nearly 40 yr old blocking them. Would be just silly. :lol

Mitch 08-04-2012 12:12 PM

Pretty cool that the Upton brothers both hit their 100th career homers last night.

NiCK (Crush) 08-04-2012 10:43 PM

Well, this is officially the worst 8 games I've ever seen the Cleveland Indians play in my lifetime. Completely lifeless, and the pitching has been completely void of anything effective.

I'm really sensing some major front office changes this off-season, as both Team President and GM's contracts are expiring this year. There is no way you can renew Chris Antonnetti. The poor decisions he made this year are some of the worst I've ever had to endure.

Not getting Willingham was issue number one... they refused to give him that third year. WHO THE FUCK cares about the third year, you can trade him away at that point if you want. Plus, the 7 million he would have made that third year could have been paid easily if he hadn't signed Sizemore again for a year (roughly 7 mil)... oh, and by the way, Sizemore hasn't played a single game... and now that they are out of it, he probably won't see any action.

Awful.

I know nobody cares.

sean52692 08-04-2012 10:47 PM

and the door quietly closes on the 2012 Cleveland Indians.

NiCK (Crush) 08-04-2012 10:48 PM

You're late. It closed 3 games ago, at least.

sean52692 08-04-2012 10:51 PM

Your post made it nice and official
