Beginning with the first notes of Too Much through to the last notes of its reprise, this midsummer show from Atlanta, GA brings some heat. The 2004 Summer Tour saw the live debut of Sugar Will, Joyride, Crazy Easy, Good Good Time and Hello Again played alongside proven fan favorites and rarities. From Captain to Crush, founding member LeRoi Moore’s playing is nothing short of amazing as the band delivers one of its finer sets.

Please note - Live Trax Vol. 43 is available for pre-order and will be released on September 22, 2017. CDs will ship on or around Sept 19. Downloads will be available on Sept, 22. Item #: DMDD151

I've never heard this show, but I'm down with that '04 setlist :upyours

Habbs 08-17-2017 11:35 AM

I don't remember ever seeing this set but it is interesting. 2004 was a great year, hopefully a fine release. Your links are either incomplete or broken and/or the pages were made public briefly on accident? Thanks for the info regardless, I might have to buy this one along with getting 39 and 41

Tambourine Man 08-17-2017 11:35 AM

Good pick

greykitkat36 08-17-2017 11:37 AM

Awesome, awesome pick. Really excited about this. Going to make that recent '07 sound pathetic. Some great versions of these '04 songs and interesting setlist, opening with Too Much and closing with the reprise is really cool, and something they don't really do a lot. :upyours :upyours

There are tons of good '04 shows, and I really want 10/2/04 badly, but this one is great too and will be a really interesting listen. Most of the songs in this set are barely played these days or the last few years, so it'll be pretty refreshing.

04 sets are boring. Pass

Pretty hot take. If you mean in terms of variety and different songs played, you're right. They did repeat a lot of the same songs the whole tour and we don't need many shows from that year to really sum it all up, but this one is a pretty unique one that really cooks.

SeekUpAB 08-17-2017 11:42 AM

Fuck yeah, been dying for another '04. I think someone made a case for this show on here recently? Like the quick turnaround since 42 was kind of a let down personally.

mja271 08-17-2017 11:49 AM

Don't find this set overly exciting but '04 shows are all good so I'm sure it'll be a good listen.

Habbs 08-17-2017 11:50 AM

Looking at the almanac, on the scanned setlist there is [FONZ' JAM IN 7?] I wonder what that was, also WWYS cut. Playing the crap out of the new songs(not necessarily bad since they are good, except Crazy Easy is mediocre IMO) may have limited how many songs they played in 04, but it was still the last great year of their peak.

JimBeam41 08-17-2017 11:59 AM

So they repeated the Lil Jon scat to open and close the show?

Fan#41 08-17-2017 12:00 PM

Butch era, pre-Rashawn? Yes, please. Can't wait.

Still amazing to me with how much they played those new songs that tour that only one of them ever saw the light of day as a released studio track (Hello Again).

And there it is:

1997: Almost 50 releases and 7 years since our last (and only) release.
2000: Almost 60 releases and 8 years since our last release if you don't count the Wolfgang's Vault release (and I don't because, seriously, fuck that stupid thing)
2004: 75ish releases and over a decade since our last release

Yikes.

This was rumored to be LT42 wasn't it? I thought I saw something about that and was looking at this setlist not that long ago.

This always seemed like a cool little show, I will have to give a listen before I buy this. There are other '04 shows I'm waiting for and I'm more patient these days since we have an abundance of live shows to listen to now. Seems like a good pick though.

Was rumored to be 41 instead of 3.13.99, but I think whoever spread that rumor probably heard they were working on it around when 3.13 was announced, which is about how far out these are planned. LT41 was never anything other than 3.13 for a long time, well before the rumors were spreading.

Thrawn 08-17-2017 12:24 PM

Cool. I'm into this release. :upyours
